Electric Line Worker Foreman

 

The Preston Public Utilities Commission is accepting applications for a full-time Electric Line Worker Foreman position. JOB OPENING – MAINTENANCE  MANAGER – FARIBAULT, MN

The Maintenance Manager provides leadership to the plant Maintenance Department for the safe and efficient maintenance of the generating equipment under the general direction of the Plant Manager.  He or she manages the daily operation of the facility to ensure that generating requirements, plant efficiency and reliability are maintained in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable permits, laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

Hutchinson Utilities Commission

Lineman

 

Hutchinson Utilities seeks qualified applicants for the position of Lineman.  Duties include installation and maintenance of all overhead and underground facilities, transformers, streetlights, control systems and other equipment, and responds to outages and other emergencies.  Minimum experience required: Lineman I –3 years experience in the position of Lineman II or equivalent; Lineman II – 4 years as an apprentice or the equivalent in training and work experience. Qualifications include aptitude in instrument control and maintenance, working knowledge of electricity, capable of working all system voltages, thorough knowledge of transformer connections, testing and troubleshooting, addressing problems with the distribution system, and pole climbing and working from aerial devices.  Desire certificates of completion of either, 1) home study courses or equivalent on basic electricity or fundamentals of electricity, mathematics for electrical trades, I.C.S. transformers, transformer operation, distribution and power transformers, electric power substation (2 units), line voltage regulators, and instrument transformers; or 2) an accredited lineperson course.  Requires a valid, Class A commercial driver’s license.  Position works a regular forty hour work week, subject to the provisions of the Hutchinson Utilities Commission Employee Handbook and labor agreement in effect, is included in the standby duty rotation, and may be subject to unscheduled hours for outages, emergencies or contingencies. Includes inside and outside work in all weather conditions.  Pay range is $19.54 / hour to $27.41 / hour per the Union Contract.  Pay rate dependent upon designation as Lineperson II or Lineperson I based on experience and qualifications.

ELECTRIC MANAGER

The O&M Technician II assists in the safe and efficient operation of the power plant and the supporting equipment and systems. The O&M Technician II carries out all routine water/gas chemistry analysis, inspects and monitors operating components and reports plant status.

Weekend and/or Holiday Rotation may be required.
Rotating Shifts may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school. 
  • Minimum of two years experience in Power Plant Operations desirable, minimum one year experience as an O&M I Technician. 
  • Experience in water chemistry control, analysis of water conditions, water treatment facility operations and chemical handling requirements is required.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of cogeneration and boiler operations, closed system steam generation, industrial safety, hazardous waste management and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable.
  • Experience with piping and instrument schematics and process controls desirable.
  • Extensive working knowledge of power plant industry is desirable.
  • Candidate must complete a plant operator's knowledge examination.

DESIGN ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

EXPERIENCED APPRENTICE LINEWORKER

 

Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU), located in Marshall, Minnesota is accepting applications for an experienced Apprentice Lineworker position.  This position includes the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines in a progressive community serving approximately 6,000 customers.

Applicants must be a graduate of an accredited vocational line worker course and have a minimum of two (2) years experience in the electrical industry. In addition, applicants must have or be able to obtain a valid MN Class A CDL within one year, have knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and be familiar with the National Electrical Safety Code Book.

Utility Line Worker
