Presented in partnership with the Minnesota Rural Electric Association

The National Electric Safety Code (NESC) is the application standard for safety in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of an electric utility system.

In August 2016, the 2012 Edition of the Code was updated and the National Electric Safety Code - Edition 2017 was released.

We are holding six, one-day seminars around the state, which will include round-table discussion of the Code changes. Some major change areas include:

  • Grounding methods
  • Overhead line clearances
  • Underground line strength and loading
  • Work rules

Who should attend?

This event is intended for General Managers, Crew Leaders, Superintendents, Supervisors, Engineers, Safety Managers and anyone else on your team who needs to be aware of and understand the changes. Attend and learn about code changes to ensure compliance and safety of employees and the public you serve.

Advanced registration is required and is limited to the first 40 at each location; no on-site registration. Registrant must be employed by a utility, cooperative or an approved affiliate.
