Minnesota teams did their home state proud at the National Public Power Lineworkers Rodeo, held April 2 at Canterbury Park in Shakopee. The event, sponsored by the American Public Power Association, was hosted by MMUA and Shakopee Public Utilities. Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU) brought home three pieces of hardware from the event.
Trevor Morin of MMU placed third in the Apprentice - Overall and Apprentice - Written Test categories.
The MMU journeyman team of Cody Raveling, Nate Janssen and Tony Mead placed second in the Journeyman - 4kV Insulator Change Out event.
A number of other Minnesota municipal utility teams and individuals participated. These included teams or individuals from Austin Utilities, Blooming Prairie Public Utilities, Brainerd Public Utilities, Chaska Public Utilities, Detroit Lakes Public Utilities, Elk River Municipal Utilities, Marshall Municipal Utilities, Rochester Public Utilities, Shakopee Public Utilities and Willmar Municipal Utilities.
