Generation School offers hands-on training and networking opportunities for generator operators and technicians. Whether a seasoned operator or just starting out in the field, all can benefit.
At the School, participants can engage in a wide variety of hands-on activities—from basic operation to technical maintenance.
When registering, please indicate preference for hands-on training, which will take place at the Blooming Prairie Power Plant (Fairbanks Morse Engine) and at the New Prague Power Plant (Cooper).
NOTE: Generation School takes place at multiple locations, beginning at Owatonna Public Utilities.

1:00-2:00 Basic System Maintenance—Cooling, Fuel, Lube, etc., Jeff Crampton & Kyle McLenachen, Fairbanks Morse Engine
2:15-4:00 Tour – MMPA Faribault Energy Park (bussing provided for tour only) - Proper PPE required (see below)

PPE required for tours and hands-on training in the plants.
Participants will receive a certificate of achievement. Watch for an email notification from MMUA after the event.
$465 per student for members; $690 per student for non-members. All fees increase $50 on March 12, 2018.
Fee includes: workshop tuition, materials, refreshment breaks, lunch and a certificate of achievement.
Please note: Transportation during this school is the responsibility of the registrant. Program/schedule subject to change without notice.
MMUA will issue a refund on advance registrations (minus $30 processing fee per registration) provided MMUA is notified of the cancellation by 4:30 pm on March 23, 2018. No refunds after March 23.
