The Basic Metering Pre-Conference is a good class for those interested in "the basics" as a foundation for their training or as a refresher course. The Pre-Conference will provide a good foundation for those interested in continuing on with the Basic/Intermediate class.

About the Instructors

Larry Chapman from Chapman Metering
Larry Chapman has worked in the metering business his entire career, and is highly respected. Larry and his staff have instructed at the Meter School for more than 10 years.

John Pollard from TSTM, Inc.
John Pollard is the Director of Technical Operations for TSTM, Inc. He has more than 25 years of experience in the metering field.

Scott Murfield
Scott Murfield returns as the lead instructor for the Basic/Intermediate class. Scott worked 30 years in the electric utility industry. He is a certified Journeyman Lineman, Journeyman Electrician and Loss Control Professional. Prior to his retirement, Scott was a Regional Safety Coordinator for MMUA.

• Arc Flash Shield (MMUA has a few shields that can be shared. DO NOT jeopardize employee safety by bringing your utility's only arc flash shield.)

Earn Apprenticeship Hours

Individuals registered in an apprenticeship program may be able to use the hours from this school toward completing a portion of their apprenticeship!

Certificates

Participants earn hours for attendance and a certificate of achievement will be available online. Participants should watch for an email notification from MMUA.

Registration Fee

Members — $115 per person
Non-members — $265 per person
All fees increase $50 on  January 20, 2021.

Registration fee includes tuition, materials, refreshment breaks and a certificate of achievement. Note: Wednesday lunch provided if registered for both the Pre-Conference and the Meter School.

Cancellations/Refunds

MMUA will issue a refund (less $30 processing fee per person) provided MMUA is notified of the cancellation by 4:30 pm on January 28, 2021. No refunds after January 28.
