Training for operators

The annual MMUA Generation School will be held April 21-23, 2020, in Hutchinson. This school takes hands-on training on a number of different engine/generator types to municipal power plants in host cities within a certain geographic area. Events at the headquarters city include a generation product show and reception. At this school, you will find training for well-seasoned operators or for those just starting in the generation field.

  • Turbocharger Basics
  • Station Power Batteries/Chargers
  • Arc Protection and Flame-Resistant Clothing
  • RICE Rule NESHAP and EPA Clean Power Plan
  • New Power Plant Tours
  • Generation Product Show & Reception
  • Round Table Discussion
  • Hands-On Training on location (self-selected).

Hands-on training covers topics of interest on a variety of engine types. Instructors may come directly from the factory or bring years of experience from nationally-known companies. Attendees also have the opportunity to meet and discuss with their peers from municipal power plants across the state and wider region.
