The fifth annual Race for Fallen Linemen will be held at Viking Speedway in Alexandria the evening of Saturday, Aug. 10.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to The Fallen Linemen Organization, which provides financial support to electric utility linemen injured while on the job and/or supporting organizations and institutions.
ALP Utilities, the local municipal electric utility, is one of the event sponsors. Last year, almost $4,400 was donated and with your help that goal can be bettered this year. So come on out to a great event and help raise some money for a great organization.
Viking Speedway is located at 300 Fairgrounds Road, Alexandria. Grandstand admission for regular race events is $12 for adults and seniors. but is $20 on Aug. 10, with part of the proceeds going to the Fallen Lineman organization. Kids ages 10-15 admission is $5.00 and children 9 and under free.
Grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and races start at 6:45.
