State Offers Electric Vehicle Charging Grants

July 16, 2018

Municipal electric utilities should be aware that the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is offering grants to install direct current fast-charging stations for electric vehicles along Minnesota highways and interstates.

The MPCA anticipates awarding a total of approximately $1.4 million for these grants. Grant proposal submissions are due August 21, 2018.

A list of required city locations has been developed along main transportation corridors. Installation of fast-charging stations is required in Bemidji, Grand Rapids, Detroit Lakes, St. Cloud, Willmar, Marshall, Rochester, and Mankato.
