U of M Seeks Municipal Input on Distributed Energy Resources

The Center for Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy at the University of Minnesota is seeking input from utilities on “the opportunities and challenge of distributed energy resources in Minnesota’s municipal and cooperative utilities.” The Listening Sessions will be held 1 to 3 p.m., Friday, May 4 at St. Cloud State University and 10 a.m. to noon Monday, May 7 at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota.

The Center reports that has conducted nearly 50 interviews with municipal and cooperative utilities, to gather initial input. At the sessions, the Center will present key findings from its interviews and seek input around these themes:

  • Long-term industry vision
  • Innovation perceptions and constraints
  • Responsibility to customers.
