CHAP Funds Still Available to Help With Bills

October 1, 2020

Help for utility payments are still available, for a limited time, through the COVID-19 Housing Assistance Program (CHAP). This program provides payments to maintain housing stability for renters and homeowners. To qualify, Minnesota households must have an income at or below 300 percent of federal poverty guidelines and an eligible expense that was incurred after March 1, 2020 that is past due. One or more of these payments must be owed due to a COVID-related issue.

Expenses covered under the CHAP include, but are not limited to, rent and mortgage payments and utility payments.

The CHAP application link can be found through the 211 UnitedWay.org’s website, at https://www.housinghelpmn.org/

Here is a link to a one-page flyer designed for customers interested in finding out more about the program.
