UTILITY WORKER POSITION – Truman Municipal Utilities, Truman MN
BRIEF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs skilled installation, construction, maintenance and repair of City electrical utility distribution and transmission systems; prepares and updates reports and records, including updating system information records; performs related work as assigned. This job also includes power plant, water and wastewater Dept O&M duties.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED; ability to obtain a class A Minnesota Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement within six months of employment; obtain a First Aid Card and CPR certification within 3 months of hire; the ability to work outdoors with great physical exertion, the ability to lift up to 75 pounds; the ability to work around noisy equipment, on uneven terrain, in fields, and along roads with vehicular traffic. Experience in operating power operated equipment is beneficial. Electrical line technician certification is preferred, but not required. Will be required to enter into apprentice agreement for electrical, water, and sewer.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 2-3 years on the job experience, ability to operate assigned equipment such as a bucket truck, boom truck, backhoe, and overhead and underground wire pulling equipment; knowledge of OSHA regulations and policies and procedures applicable to assigned tasks; ability to operate a computer system in a Windows based environment with knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
