Joint-action electric utility is seeking a Human Resources and Insurance Administrator to oversee the implementation and administration of human resources and insurance policies and programs.  This position will provide information and recommendations to management of sound and appropriate human resources and insurance-related business initiatives and strategies.  Oversees all ongoing activities related to the safety policies and programs of the Agency to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. Administers the Agency’s compensation and employee benefit programs, recruitment and selection processes, performance management and employee relations activities, and training and development needs. Responsible for ensuring the proper insurance program is in place for the Agency’s business insurance and provides insurance guidance to Members upon request.

Salary: $125,801 – $157,251, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers the Agency’s benefit programs including health insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, short/long-term disability, Flexible Benefit/Cafeteria Plan, workers’ compensation, retirement plans and other employee benefits.
  • Oversees all ongoing activities related to the safety policies and programs of the Agency to ensure a safe working environment and the safety, health, and well-being of Agency personnel.
  • Provides information and recommendations to management of short-term and long-range human resources policies and programs to ensure effective utilization and to maintain positive employee relations.
  • Administers the Agency’s compensation and performance management activities.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of strategies to ensure staffing requirements meet the needs of the Agency.

·         Manages the Agency’s business insurance program and participates in ad hoc risk management activities.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree with five or mor years of experience, public sector preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and relationship building skills to effectively work with a variety of people and personalities; able to communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing.
  • Effective time management skills to meet all deadlines; displays flexibility to meet Agency’s unique needs and to be productive in environment with regular interruptions.
  • Works as a proactive team player with an ownership approach to work; understands the importance of supporting the Agency, its Members and their customers
