2022 MMUA Strategic Plan

In the 2022-23 fiscal year, MMUA is embarking on a new strategic plan to guide the organization as it enters its second century of service. This plan comes after months of development and input from hundreds of stakeholders, including 483 responses to the 2021 stakeholder survey and feedback from 17 regional groups of utility leaders.

The plan is comprised of four strategic pillars: effective public policy advocacy, strategic preservation of local control, excellence in member benefits, and best-in-class programs and services. The plan also emphasizes the foundational pillar of efficient association operations. It is designed to enhance our leadership position and foster growth while focusing intently on the needs of municipal utilities in Minnesota primarily, though we are willing to extend our reach beyond its borders where we can uniquely and cost-effectively bring value that is needed by municipalities elsewhere.

MMUA volunteer and staff leaders thank all those who shared their insight and passion for ensuring that hometown power remains vibrant and relevant within the shifting landscape of the utilities industry. To download a copy of the plan, please click here
