APPA 2016 Legislative Rally
MMUA encourages members to join public power utilities from around the country at the APPA 2016 Legislative Rally, which will be held March 7-9 at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, D.C. As with past rallies, MMUA will coordinate opportunities for members to discuss public policy with Minnesota's congressional delegation. Register through the APPA website registration page. Please note that despite the current debate about "REAL ID," a basic current Minnesota driver license or ID card is all that will be required to fly to Washington, DC and back. No personal identification is required to participate in the rally's day-on-the-hill lobbying activities at the Capitol. The only access limitation you may face is if you try to enter a federal agency building where identification is required (e.g., DOE, EPA, FERC).
The MMUA Tom Bovitz Memorial Scholarship provides funding for post-secondary education. Winners must be customers, or dependents of customers, of MMUA-member electric or gas utilities. The essay contest takes place in the spring of the year.
