Join other hometown utility and city professionals at this interactive conference.

Here you will engage in active discussion and idea sharing—an ideal venue to increase your understanding of the mutual aid process, offer recommendations for improvement, and deepen relationships with fellow industry professionals. Planning, exercising, and training can help enhance your emergency response plan, so you can anticipate deficiencies and proactively address potential consequences due to an emergency.

Who should attend?
If your utility is ever in need of receiving mutual aid or interested in traveling, in-state or out-of-state, to assist with mutual aid, this conference is for you.

Typical conference attendees include superintendents, general managers, city administrators, crew leaders, or safety managers, but it is certainly not limited to these positions.

Topics
Topics of discussion at this year’s conference will include:
  • Review of recent mutual aid events
  • Developing a bird dog
  • Locating, allocating, and managing crews, equipment, and resources
  • Mapping and prioritizing system restoration (i.e. critical customer base)
  • Internal and external communication in an emergency
  • The importance of a written pay policy
  • Billing for reimbursement
    • Documenting mutual aid approval by authorized  entity
    • Work narrative, equipment operation, and use
    • Receipts, time sheet, and other documentation
