Join us for a friendly fishing tournament and support local post-secondary electric line work training programs. Tournament proceeds will be donated equally to the three Minnesota programs. This is a team event only (2 people per boat). Limit 50 teams.

Before 6:15 AM - Check In
7:00 am-3:00 pm -  Walleye fishing tournament
5:00 pm - Prize/awards presentation and cook out

Plus, we'll have an informal fish fry for all registered participants starting around 5:30 pm on Friday, May 31. All activities take place at Bladow Beach Resort.

Tournament regulations

  • Catch & release is strongly encouraged.
  • Fish harvested have size restrictions and must comply with MN DNR regulations.
  • Tournament fish limit: 6 or fewer walleye. Only 1 walleye greater than 20 inches.
  • Fish must be a minimum of 14 inches plus “gilling” to qualify as a weigh-able fish.
  • Largest walleye format will be catch, photo, and release; see additional requirements below.
  • All tournament anglers must check in before 6:15 am at tournament headquarters the day of tournament. Shotgun start at 7:00 am from Bladow Beach Resort.
  • The only weigh station for this tournament is located at Bladow Beach Resort dock. No exceptions!
  • The tournament shall promptly conclude at 3:00 pm. All entrants are required to check in at the weigh-in station, regardless if any fish were caught.
  • All Minnesota state fishing regulations and boating laws shall be adhered to. Participants may be disqualified if not.
  • Tournament Coordinators and tournament sponsors are not liable for any accidents, loss or damage of any property, or personal injury in conjunction with this tournament. A waiver must be completed prior to participation.
  • Any discrepancies of weight, length, or other tournament matters shall be determined by Tournament Coordinators the day of event.
Largest Walleye requirements:
  • The largest walleye is determine by total overall length. Fish must be minimum 24 inches to qualify.
  • ​The largest walleye is part of your 6 fish bag limit. It will be added to your total weight using a length/weight conversion chart.
  • You must provide a digital photo of your largest walleye while resting on a bump board or Hawg trough-style measuring device
  • After taking the photo, we encourage the immediate release of your largest walleye.

Prize money

Prizes are based on minimum 30 participating teams. If less than 30 teams participate in the tournament, prizes will be adjusted proportionately. Team scores are calculated based on the combined total weight of 6 or fewer walleye caught during the tournament.
 
1st place team: $500.00
2nd place team: $300.00
3rd place team: $200.00
4th place team: $140.00
5th place team: $130.00
6th place team: $120.00
Largest walleye:  $100.00
 
Largest walleye determined by length. Fish must be minimum 24 inches to qualify. The largest walleye is part of 6 fish bag limit. Entry fee (must be two-person team per boat)

Electric utility employee:  $30/person
Non-utility employee (supplier/other): $80/person

NOTE: Registration limited to the first 50 teams. Deadline to register is May 17 or when registration is full.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the three post-secondary electric line work training programs in Minnesota.

Cancellations/refunds

Cancellations are subject to a $30 processing fee per person if received by 4:30 pm on May 17, 2024. Refunds issued to a credit card will be subject to an additional 3% fee. No refunds issued after May 17.

Photographs

By registering for this event, participant authorizes Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association (MMUA) to photograph me at this event and use such photographs in MMUA marketing materials (both electronic and print). I understand that I will not be paid for giving this consent.
