Basic single-phase transformer connection and theory

We are pleased to announce Scott Meinecke will be back to instruct this course. With his lineworker background, Scott has a knack for explaining complicated principals so that they are understandable. Scott has a true passion for the craft and has been instructing on this topic for more than 25 years!

What you will learn

The pre-conference is intended to serve as a basic or "refresher" course on the fundamentals of single-phase transformer connections and theory. The course includes classroom and hands-on instruction on topics such as safe work practices, transformer theory, basic calculations, connections, sizing, and troubleshooting.

Who should attend

This course would be helpful for anyone involved with the electric line crew—from apprentice lineworkers to employees from other departments that assist as a ground person. The pre-conference course can also benefit any lineworker who desires to enhance their knowledge of transformers prior to attending the three-phase transformer connections course the remainder of the week!

Registrants must bring their own personal protective equipment as well as other items, including:

Safety glasses
Secondary rubber gloves
FR clothing
Appropriate footwear
Volt/amp meter
Calculator
Notebook and pen/pencil

Certificate of achievement

A certificate of achievement will be provided showing the hours of attendance acquired. Certificates will be emailed after the course.

Registration fees

Member: $145 per person
Non-Member: $275 per person

All fees increase $50 on December 22, 2023.
Deadline to register is January 4, 2024.

Registration fee includes course tuition, materials, Wednesday lunch (for those attending both Pre-Conference and Conference), refreshment breaks and a certificate of achievement.

Cancellations/refunds

Cancellations are subject to a $35 charge per person if received by 4:30 pm on January 4, 2024. No refunds issued after January 4.
