MMUA Postpones Several Schools, Visits, Monitors Situation

March 18, 2020

In response to COVID-19 health directives issued by the national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Minnesota Department of Health and executive orders issued by Gov. Tim Walz, along with widespread public and membership concern, MMUA has postponed or cancelled all meetings and events through April 1.

Events postponed include the March 17-18 PCB Management and Record-keeping Workshop, the March 24-26 Substation School and the April 21-23 Generation School.

The March 31-April 1 Legislative Conference has been cancelled.

MMUA will continue to closely monitor events in determining the status of other scheduled meetings and events.

Member visits by all MMUA field staff have been suspended until April 3. Field staff will continue to provide support to their communities remotely. This policy will be reviewed as the situation further develops.

The MMUA office remains open, but is operating in safe mode with limited staff and is closed to the public. Most staff are working in remote locations and we will continue to do our best to meet member needs and requests in the coming weeks. Please contact us with any questions, comments or concerns.
