Water/Wastewater Operator

The City of Staples is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to work as an Operator II within our Public Works Department.

The successful candidate will perform skilled work in the operation and maintenance of our water and wastewater plants, as well as in our water distribution, sewer collection, streets, and other public works systems.

The City of Staples offers a great opportunity to work in a modern Class C lime softening water plant and a brand-new Class B extended aeration wastewater treatment plant. Staples has a great benefits package, including an HSA, and a pay range of $26.41-$35.64, depending on qualifications stated in our union contract. Staples has an excellent safety program and offers many training opportunities that will allow you to grow in your career. Minimum qualifications are a Minnesota Class B Commercial Driver’s License – or the ability to obtain one within one (1) year. The successful candidate will also be required to obtain a Class C water license within four (4) years and a Class B wastewater license within seven (7) years.
