LINE DESIGN STAKING ENGINEER

Full-time; bargaining unit position; non-exempt; benefit eligible

  • Member driven, community focused, energy smart
  • Melrose reporting facility, with a Monday – Friday work week
  • Wage range is $41.79 - $52.08 per hour per collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with 
    benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans upon eligibility

Core Tasks: 

  1. Meet with members to create accurate plans for new services and service alterations.
  2. Work with staff and engineering teams to obtain easements and permits.
  3. Gather and record applicable project information.
  4. Understand and appropriately employ technologies available to perform job related tasks. Maintain an understanding of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and applicable Stearns
  5. Electric policies and procedures.

In this position we’re looking for: Someone who can demonstrate strong social and communication skills, attention to detail, approachability, member-focused mindset, problemsolving ability, and excellent organizational skills. Someone who might have experience in one or more of the following areas: electrical work, design technology, surveying, geographic information systems (GIS), linework, easements, permitting, electrical codes, construction and civil engineering drawings.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent are required. Must maintain a valid driver's 
license and good driving record.


Preferred: Five years of distribution utility experience and a CDL license.
