Police Chief City of Fairmont
The City of Fairmont is seeking a fair, professional, and dedicated law enforcement leader with a strong desire to serve the community to be its next Police Chief. Reporting to the City Administrator, the Police Chief is a key advisor in public safety matters and is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and operational effectiveness of the Police Department.
Minimum qualifications include being (or eligible to be) licensed as a Peace Officer in Minnesota or pass POST’s out-of-state officer or military reciprocity program; possessing a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field; and having at least 10 years’ full-time law enforcement experience, including at least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory/administrative position. Preferred qualifications include experience in the following areas: progressive, community-centered law enforcement leadership, effective allocation of department resources, and implementation/administration of various law enforcement programs or projects.
The anticipated hiring range is $115,585.60 – $127,982.40/year, DOQ.
