Afterhours Serviceworker

Position Description: 

Responds to customer requests for electric, gas and water service issues primarily after business hours Monday, 10:00 a.m. through Friday, 7:00 a.m. This includes electrical outages, lines down,  blown cutouts, underground faults,  trees in primary lines, natural gas leaking, re-lighting gas equipment, high & low gas pressure, CO detection,  water leak investigation, low water pressure, and water main breaks. Serves as First Responder in emergency situations and maintains current knowledge and follows procedures included the Gas Emergency Plan. Performs reconnections of services for non-payment disconnected customers. Performs substation checks and replacement and isolation of transformers, regulators, breakers, switches, fuses, street lighting, lightning arrestors, etc.

Assists Meter Services, Engineering and other departments as needed and qualified.  Evaluate customer requests for tree trimming.

Insures OPU facilities are locked and secured after business hours. Performs utility maintenance, inspection tasks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Education:  Electric Lineworker Technical College certificate/degree is desired. Technical College certificate/associate degree  a Gas, Water or Facilities maintenance program is desired.

Experience:  Four + years as an Electric Journey Lineworker is desired. Six (6) years as an electric journey lineworker is a plus.  Work experience on natural gas and/or water systems, facilities maintenance, and plumbing experience is desirable.
