Gas and Water Serviceworker Owatonna Public Utilities

Position Description:  

Performs a wide variety of gas and water construction, operation and maintenance tasks. Responds to customer requests for service promptly and safely restores gas and water service to customers. Operates and maintains the water distribution system, including valve operations, hydrant flushing, inspection of contractor connections to the main, responds to low water pressure, and installs and/or repairs water leaks. Provides efficient and timely service to our natural gas customers by responding to customer requests for gas leaks, smell of gas in the dwelling, relighting of gas equipment, low gas pressure. Performs gas maintenance tasks in accordance with MNOPS regulations including regulator checks and adjustments, odorant levels, leak surveys, leak investigations, and cathodic protection surveying. Performs maintenance as required on OPU’s buildings, grounds and facilities requiring carpentry, masonry, snow removal, and any repairs needed on all OPU properties. Position is on a standby rotation with a 30 minute response time requirement.
