Code Enforcement Officer
The City of Fairmont is looking for a part-time Code Enforcement Officer to support the City’s code compliance program by conducting investigations, preparing notices and reports, and connecting residents with helpful resources and recommendations. It will also collaborate with a cross-functional team of City staff across multiple departments to ensure a comprehensive, engaged enforcement process. This position will work approximately 20 hours per week. Work will typically be conducted between City Hall’s standard business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience engaging and working with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as mobile devices and their associated applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years’ experience related to code compliance and enforcement, construction inspection, property maintenance inspection, or a related field
- Completion of advanced coursework or professional training/certification related to inspections (housing, code enforcement, building)
Successful candidates must also possess a valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check.
The salary range for this position is $25.00/hour – $27.50/hour. The City provides sick time per MN ESST guidelines and a MN PERA benefit for qualified employees.
