Apprentice Lineworker
The City of Saint Peter, Minnesota, is currently accepting applications for the position of Apprentice Lineworker in the Department of Public Works. Starting pay $41.04 - $48.48 per hour depending on experience.

Currently enrolled in or nearing completion of a Lineman Apprenticeship Program? We encourage you to apply! The city uses a 100-point scoring system to evaluate applicants based on related experience and training. Applicants who are enrolled in or have completed an approved apprenticeship program receive additional points for this directly related training and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent;
· AAS Degree or diploma in Powerline Technology or currently enrolled in a technical program to obtain an AAS or diploma with expected completion prior to hire date;
· Valid Driver’s License;
· Valid State of Minnesota Class A Drivers’ License with Air Brake Endorsement or able to obtain within six months of the date of employment with the city;
· American Heart Association Certification as a Basic Rescuer for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care or able to obtain within six months of the date of employment with the city.
Desirable Qualifications
· Currently enrolled in an approved Apprenticeship Program;
· Experience as a 1,000 Hour Temporary Apprentice Line Worker for an Electrical Utility;
· Experience as a Seasonal Laborer for an Electric Utility;
· Demonstrated knowledge to perform the duties of Apprentice Line Worker;
· Demonstrated knowledge of installing underground electric facilities;
· Demonstrated knowledge of revenue meter wiring and installation;
· Demonstrated knowledge of the American Public Power Association Safety Manual or equivalent;
· Demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC);
· Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office;
· Demonstrated ability to speak conversational Spanish or Somali.
