WATER OPERATOR
Entry-Level & Experienced Candidates Encouraged to Apply
Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU), located in Marshall, Minnesota, is currently accepting applications for the 
position of Water Operator. The Water Operator will join a crew responsible for operating and maintaining a safe, reliable water utility system that serves approximately 14,000 residents. We welcome candidates at every career stage, from those just starting out in water operations to experienced plant operators.


CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with training or experience that demonstrate a solid understanding of water technology and/or water distribution construction will be viewed favorably, though this background is not required to apply. A Class D Water Operator Certificate is required within two years of hire, and all candidates must be able to maintain a 20-minute oncall response time.

Candidates with any of the following qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply and may qualify for a higher pay range:

  • Prior water treatment plant experience, particularly with chemical precipitation softening
  • Experience in a similar industrial or municipal utility setting
  • A current Class B Water Certificate

Prior plant experience is not required — MMU is committed to training and certification support that helps motivated entry-level candidates grow into the role.


COMPENSATION:
Salary: $70,535–$88,168 (without water certification) $76,514–$95,643 (with Class B water certification) 
Final placement within the applicable range will depend on the candidate's experience and qualifications. MMU also offers a comprehensive competitive benefits package.
