Electric Distribution Superintendent
Position Description: The City of Fairmont is looking for a full-time Electric Distribution Superintendent to oversee daily and large-scale operations of the City’s electrical distribution system by directing and supervising personnel, coordinating projects, managing maintenance and inventory, developing budgets, and ensuring regulatory compliance. A key aspect of the role involves working closely with various stakeholders to provide excellent electric service. The typical work schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday; additional hours may be required.
Minimum qualifications for this position include: two-year vocational college degree in electrical or related field, Journeyman Lineman Certification, eight or more years of experience in the provision of Journeyman Lineman services, and two or more years of supervisory experience. Preferred qualifications include: bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, construction management, or related field.
Successful candidates must also have a valid driver’s license and pass a criminal background check.
The salary range for this position is $53.14/hour – $67.39/hour with an anticipated starting salary up to the midpoint, DOQ.
