Journey Lineworker Saint Perter Municipal Utilities
JOURNEY LINEWORKER –The City of Saint Peter is hiring a Full-Time JOURNEY LINEWORKER, reporting to the Electric Superintendent at the Public Works Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved Apprentice Program for the occupation of Journey Lineworker; valid State of Minnesota Class A Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement or to obtain within six months of the date of employment with the City; American Heart Association Certification as a basic rescuer for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency cardiac care or able to obtain within six months of the date of employment with the City; valid Driver’s License.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated knowledge of performing the job duties of a Journey Lineworker; demonstrated knowledge of installing underground electric facilities; demonstrated ability to diagnose electrical problems under emergency conditions and take corrective action; demonstrated knowledge of revenue meter wiring and installation; demonstrated knowledge of the American Public Power Association Safety Manual or equivalent; demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC); demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office; demonstrated knowledge of Advanced Meter Infrastructure (AMI) system operation; demonstrated knowledge of Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping and data collection; demonstrated knowledge of Load Management system operation and installation; demonstrated ability to speak conversational Spanish or Somali.
Salary: $49.70 - $51.77 per hour (non-exempt).
